HD5770 vs. GTX275

Just trying to get some opinions on this. I purchased an HD5850 from Newegg but it was DOA. They no longer had any 5850 ( or 5870 for that ) in stock. So my options are a GTX275 for the same price I paid for the 5850, or an HD5770. The 5770 has better core clock speed, more memory (GDDR5 vs GDDR3), and more processing cores. Not sure what the impact of the processing cores is though. I appreciate what any of you have to say (type) on this.

Thanks.

Not to mention that the 5770 is almost $100 bucks cheaper.

5770 can render in Directx 11
GTX275 is a little bit more powerful but no Directx 11

So, on paper the GTX275 is alittle faster, but you'll be stuck with DirectX 10. From what I understand, DirectX 11 should be significantly faster than 10.

Personally I'd go for the 5770.

the gtx is to be discontinued?

ever since nvidia killed 3dfx and failed to follow up on their legacy. there dealings with apple also add to the nails in their coffin in my lack luster opinion.

with all the ati offerings at their rather nice prices
nvidia is no where to be seen except in bargain bin low powered 2004tech variety. that consume too much power force psu upgrades cause system to over heat make you go and get an expensive super airflow case..

go with the gtx make a post with it goes sizzle :P

Go for the newer architecture [5770] just for the future proofing.

GTX 275 is better now. .but wait till proper drivers come out . .then we will know for sure !
