If you get a virus, run the scans on -all- user accounts.
A while ago, my computer got one. Of course, it was sorted, but when I was on another user account, the background was the most outrageous shade of BLUE I had ever seen. So I went to the desktop settings to change it to something easier on the eyes.
No tabs to change it.
Knowing that I got rid of the virus, I knew that shouldn't have happened, so I fired up a quickscan on MalwareBytes.
Sure enough, 6 registry entries with names akin to "wallpaper.hijack" and the like. Crushed them.
So, if you get a virus, scan every user account just to make sure.
