Microsoft may have known about security hole for 18 months

Microsoft may have known about critical IE bug for months

It's not the memory issues or the speed it works at that bugs me, it's the fact that a multi-billion dollar company with a practical monopoly on OS's and browsers can't plug holes as soon as they're made.

They need to strip the code down to nothing and rebuild IE from scratch one of these days. And that means leaving ActiveX out of the code.

The question is why wait that long to sort it out? It's not like these guys aren't smart and couldn't have figured it out. I don't believe it would have taken 18 months to find a fix. Sounds like somebody dropped the ball here.

Iv always known IE was bugged even if it is'nt the speciffic bug they're talking about, bugs none the less faceless nameless bugs that are just there. deterring me away from trusting InternetExploiter in any versions or encarnations.

Iv never ever ever used it for anything other than obtaining another browser..

Altho being the most target browser for infection/mal intrusions
100% security on such a thing is impossible... they fix it we/who ever finds a way to break it..

no ones safe be afraid!

micro$ofts outlook is not to be trusted either..

stumble buttons in on it too.

lol!
